One of the images I produced for my Senior project at San Jose State. This image is meant to be viewed along side ‘The Exploited’, mirroring opposite ends of human interaction with the environment. This image is pristine and pure, without contamination by mankind. This is based roughly on a small lake in northern California called Grass Lake. Aptly named, for it is a shallow lake, and grass does grow though out the entire body of water. I did shoot film at the lake, but those pictures were not used to create this painting, and I relied more on my general impression of the place. The paint was applied mainly with pallet knife and fan brush.
