Cloud’s Rest in upper Yosemite is one of those places that’s a real pain to reach, but once you do it’s all worth it. This is a comparatively old image next to the others on this site, dating all the way back to my Boy Scouting days. The figures enjoying the view are Chad Erickson (in red), his father (sitting next to him), and Chris Lowe (blurry head in lower right corner). There is really only one word that describes this kind of place... and that word is different for all of us.
